    Department of Transportation (DOT) Exams

    The Department of Transportation requires most commercial motor vehicle drivers have a physical exam every two years before renewing a commercial driver's license. During a DOT physical examination, the doctor performs a physical examination and checks your:

    • Height
    • Weight
    • Blood Pressure
    • Vision
    • Hearing
    If you wear glasses, bring them to your exam. A urine specimen is also requested, and some employers request a urine drug screening and a breath alcohol test at the time of your exam.
